School Character Dress-up Day and Halloween - October 2017

The Friday before Halloween the elementary school had a book character dress up day.
I love this idea. Lily toyed around with a few ideas but settled on Goldilocks.

Arabella was so excited to go as Hermione. I spent a few days making a set of robes and a Gryffindor scarf.
A friend came over to our house after school and he had gone as Fly Guy. Arabella tried his costume on and it is hilarious!

We had our annual unofficial ward trunk or treat on the Monday before Halloween.
This is where the kids sported their costumes. Arabella was Rainbow Dash.
Samantha was a watermelon fairy who also insisted on taking a light saber with her when Jon took a sword as part of his Link costume.
Peter was the best cotton candy making unicorn that ever was.

Lily was also a watermelon fairy.
On actual Halloween night, we went trunk or treating with some friends in their neighborhood but Peter stood out front and gave out cotton candy and had a fire.  It was a wet and cold night so the fire was a welcome thing.
