Valentine Day Parties

Lily's class started our parties off with hers being held on Feb. 11th.
It was great with pizza, fruit, cupcakes, a craft and of course the exchanging of Valentines.
She is so full of spunk and is not afraid to take charge of a situation. Little Miss Lily you make me smile every day!
Samantha was not going to be left out of this party with delicious food involved.
The fun continued on Friday with Arabella's class party.
They started off by giving their historical person reports. She was Sacagawea. Don't you love her artistic skills? She really does a great job on art work. Peter helped her make a beaded necklace for an extra little touch.
I was in charge of the party and after the historical reports we had strawberry soda floats, popcorn, candy, and cupcakes. They of course had some time to sort through their valentine cards.  We finished off by playing a game where I pinned a card that had a famous pair on their back and they had to ask each other questions to figure out who they were. They really got into it and loved it! It was so fun to spend time with this beautiful girl!
Thirty minutes later I was in Jon's classroom ready for another party.
The other room mom made a love potion and the kids had to dance to music while it was working it's magic and getting mixed up. Jon led the conga line through the room!
The kids enjoyed the love potion and valentine cookies as well as the valentine candy from each other. This class also played the famous pairs game but had a harder time figuring out the rules.  As I think about it now, I wonder if the difference between 4th graders and 1st graders is that 4th graders start to have some inhibitions about asking questions and being wrong.  But, once they kind of figured it out there were several kids that really got into it and switched out their cards several times.
He is a handsome boy and I love him!

That night Lily's preschool was offering a free Parent's night out and we took advantage!
We dropped off the three girls and took the boys to finally see the new Star Wars movie. As an added bonus we saw it in 3D, mostly because it was the only showtime that worked with our time constraints. It was a really good movie and I loved being able to enjoy it with them and not wrestling with the little ones. We had a great start to our Valentine's Weekend.
