Utah Part 8

We played in the water at my parents one day with the cousins- it was Trevor's Birthday!

 Jon upside down.
Randy filled this pool with water from the hot tub and it quickly became a favorite spot.
Grandma Bird and Arabella waiting for the parade.

Lily thought the 24th of July parade in Mapleton was great! Candy being thrown at you and your parents let you eat it- oh yeah!
Games at Mapleton City Park carnival for the 24th- I love it! We also went to see some fireworks that night with Carla and Tyler. They were amazing!
The kids (okay, the boys) asked to stop at Four Corners and we did.
Shiprock really is a neat formation in the middle of nothing like it. Fascinating!
We drove for nearly 24 hours straight to get home.  We had been on the rode for about 40 minutes when we came across a family in a van that had just hit a deer up Spanish Fork Canyon- the deer was finished off by a semi and their van was not doing well- but they were all fine. They did not have cell service and we did.   The wife tried calling her mom in Spanish Fork, she would not pick up.  We decided that I would drive her down to her mom's and they would follow us back up the canyon in her mom's car.  Peter and the dad were able to get the tire free from some broken parts and started down the canyon.  We passed them on the way up and turned and followed them until their van died. It had now been about an hour and we were starting off again not really much further than when we left from my parents.  But, it was a really good experience.  They were really nice people and I was so glad we were able to help them.
This is what our fridge looked like on Sunday evening (we came home on Saturday getting home early, early Sunday morning).  The pizza was picked up in Amarillo I believe and the food in containers was the leftovers from our dinner.  We were smart enough to freeze a gallon of milk so we had milk but as you can see it was BARE!
We love being in Utah and seeing friends and family! The drive was long but the kids were amazing and our van was a trooper!
