Utah Part 6

Months ago when we knew we were coming to Utah we decided we wanted to hike Mt. Timpanogos. We had each done this separately but not together and not in more than a decade.
We knew there would be a full moon while we were there and so we planned our hike to include some moonlight hiking.
So fresh at the beginning of our hike.

 The views are gorgeous.
A little bit sweaty and tired.

We came across the above 3 rams as we stopped for me to get a rock out of my shoe. At first they were on one side of the trail and then they crossed over and as you can see with the picture of my back in it, they did not move when we walked past them. It was incredible.  They were beautiful animals.
I could not get over the splendor of the wildflowers- the colors and smell were absolutely lovely!
We made it to the saddle.

And finally to the peak.  This was a first for me- I had never gone all the way to the top.  We about died that last little bit. We are not used to elevation! Peter said at one point it was his sheer stubborness that was going to get him up to the top and it did.

We made it to the top in just over 4 hours and back down in just under 4 hours. The trip down seemed much longer and our legs were shaky from climbing in ways we are unaccustomed to. But this photo shows us still smiling at the end- a bit more sweaty, tired, hungry and more accomplished for the trip.
My favorite part of the trip was that we had all of that time to talk about all the things that have been weighing on our minds.  Good, long, quality communication with your spouse is priceless.

I have a photo of us in the wildflowers at the top of Timp...good memories. It was so wonderful to see you, by the way. I sure love you, girl!
