Thanksgiving 2013

Our Thanksgiving was low key in that it was just us but is was anything but low key when it came to the food.
 Lily helping with pies.
Jon thought this was an amazing Jell-o.

This was likely Peter's best turkey yet. The drippings made the yummiest gravy!
The one let down of the day was the stuffing. I used a Pepperidge farm mix and did not stuff the turkey since it was smoked. We figured out later that it was because it was dry and the bread crumbs were small in size.
The kids loved helping with the mini pigs in blankets.
We enjoyed all of it and started eating only 20 minutes after the planned time.

We had planned to invite another family over even though we started tearing out our old flooring and scraping the popcorn of the ceilings.  Then on Jon got the stomach flu for 2 days and then Arabella woke up throwing up on Saturday.  Joey started on Sunday and Lily started on Tuesday at noon which was better than the other kids which were the middle of the night.  I finished the family off by starting to feel sick while at work on Thanksgiving night.  We felt it was better to keep the infectious stomach bug to ourselves.
We had plenty to be thankful for and had spent the whole month writing the things we are thankful for in our family journal each night.
